 Firewall: taking care of the network


The firewall is a fundamental prevention tool for protecting the network. Translated as a "wall of fire" , it acts by comparing the information sent and received with the security settings, defined by the administrator, authorizing or blocking data packages, limiting access to the ports of the machines connected to the network.


Through the firewall, it is possible to protect the network against attacks that exploit its vulnerabilities, such as: R ansomware , malware , DDoS , cryptocurrency mining , among others.

How to reassign a WAN port on a router
