Is my server down?

Anyone who has their own website is sure at least once they have found that they try to enter it but it does not work, and at that moment the following question usually arises: is my server down or is it my problem? Internet connection?

In this post we are going to answer that question by analyzing the main cases in which it may seem that it is down, but in reality it is not… and what to do if your server is actually down.

A DHCP server allots a dynamic IP number. The DHCP server has a group of IP addresses which can serve the purpose.

3 reasons why your server may seem down

We are going to see the three most frequent reasons why our site can appear as offline, when in fact it is not.

User PC or Network Problems

It is also common for the problem to originate from the user's PC or network. If it is a failure on the part of the Internet provider, it is usually fixed in a couple of hours at the latest, but if the problem is with the user's PC, it is necessary to verify that there are no firewalls or antivirus that may be blocking login to the site.

Blocking by the firewall

It is undoubtedly the most frequent of the three cases. Many times if a user reports that they cannot access your website or email, there is a possibility that it has been blocked by the server.

Servers that have a firewall can block an IP that for example is making malicious requests or that has many unsuccessful attempts to access a certain system (example cPanel, mail, etc).

In the latter case, it is very common that by repeatedly using incorrect login data the system blocks our IP, which will make it impossible for us to establish a connection with the server or with the sites hosted on it.

In Infranetworking our clients can unblock their IPs without our intervention, follow this guide to see how to Unblock your IP from the cPanel firewall .

Internet connection with problems

First of all, we must diagnose what is the problem that affects us. If our site does not load, the first thing to do is try to enter another site, for example google.com, facebook.com, etc.

If another site does load, then most likely there is a server problem or we were blocked by the server. On the contrary, if another site does not load, then it is quite likely that the problem is in our connection, in which case we must contact the Internet provider.

If everything indicates that there is a problem on the server, then we must contact our hosting provider, who will tell us if there is indeed a failure in the data center network, there is a problem on the server or we have been blocked by the firewall .

How does an English proficiency test work?

English proficiency tests are administered by authorized institutions and centers in many countries. In Brazil, they are held in most states, on days and times that vary from one organization to another. How to reassign a WAN port on a router

To reassign the WAN port to the LAN on the router (for example, the TP-Link WR841N router), you need to go to the router's web interface: Go in your browser to 192.168.0.1 (or 192.168.1.1 or whatever address you set earlier) Login and password are standard (indicated on a sticker under the router) If you failed to log in through any of the above addresses, you can reset the router settings to factory defaults. To do this, on the switched on router, hold down the RESET button (located near the WAN port) and hold it for 7-8 seconds, then release it and wait for the device to reboot. After the reset, the router's web interface will be available at one of the addresses written above. Once you get into the router's web interface, make sure once again that after resetting the equipment to factory settings, you do not have the Internet. Nothing has changed, so go to the "Network" - "IPTV" section Change the mode from “Automatic” to “Bridge” A drop-down menu wi

NoOps, the future of cloud computing

In 2009, consulting firm  Delloite  , curious about the trends that the beginning of  digital transformation  was causing in large companies and different sectors of the economy, created a study to survey the digital technologies employed at the time. Ten years later, the booming technologies in 2009 became obsolete  .  Regarding the maturity of  digital transformation  ,  Deloitte  says: “  To stay ahead of the market, organizations must work methodically to envision new innovations and possibilities, set their ambitions for the future and go beyond the digital frontier.” Sounds like a difficult task, doesn't it?  But not so much.  Many previous trends remain important today, have only been refined and continue to evolve.  These include analytics and  cloud computing  , for example. The use of  artificial intelligence  remains paramount, but it is now necessary to step in and completely re-evaluate the way humans and machines interact within the workplace. Next, let's
